It was a hot time moving in to the beach house this year - not as many young whippersnappers to help and it was just hot and humid. The California Gelinnes have been used to dry 65 degree days so they are really having a hard time. The ocean offers a refreshing coolness to those of us (only a few) hardy enough to jump in. After an extended happy hour we enjoyed Elaine's excellent lasagne dinner and greeted the bride-to-be when she came for a visit. After dinner the beach was calling so most of us went down to walk and talk by the surf. Aside from the heat it was a gorgeous day and a beautiful evening. The house is large and comfortable with lots of sitting areas so we can really spread out. Only 17 of us are here tonight but by Wednesday we will have a full house. Aaron is off of his ship and in Hawaii and looking for a flight to Norfolk. We're sure he'll be here in time for the wedding!
